Mrs. Quatoya Tyson

Mrs. Tyson currently serves as the 3–5 Literacy Coach at Slater Elementary and the K–12 Gifted and Advanced Pathways Lead for Purpose Built Schools Atlanta. A second-career educator, she began her journey in education as an instructional paraprofessional at The New Schools at Carver – School of Health Sciences and Research in the Carver Cluster. Since then, she has served as a classroom educator, Instructional Technology Coach, and Instructional Coach in Fulton County Schools and at Price Middle School, as well as a User Engagement Specialist with Promethean.

She holds two bachelor’s degrees from Florida A&M University and a master’s degree from Mercer University. Additionally, she has earned endorsements in Gifted Education, Instructional Coaching, and Dyslexia.

In her spare time, Mrs. Tyson enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, trying new foods, traveling, and browsing HomeGoods.
